Alex “Deviltrigger” Nguyen

Mortal Kombat 11

Alex started playing fighting games when he was a kid with his older brother. They would play Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, DBZ Tenkaichi, and Smash. Alex would get frustrated because he could never beat him and that helped him find his joy in fighting games. As they got older, his brother grew distant, and Alex lost the motivation to play. Then, he met the fighting game community and found new people to compete with. Along the way, Alex became really close his new family. Whether win or lose, all Alex wishes to do now is to entertain and make people happy. He looks forward to representing his family that helped raise him.

Axel “NovaSpec” Bailey

Street Fighter V

A Vessel from the small town of Sulphur, Louisiana. Axel has grown with many different FGC scenes in South Louisiana (Lake Charles, Lafayette, Baton Rouge, New Orleans). Originally an avid player of Smash Bros. Brawl. and other casual fighting games. He started his journey into esports and competitive gaming with Street Fighter IV and Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. Axel has been playing fighting games since 2008 and has climbed his way up to the top 5 amongst the best players in Louisiana for Street Fighter V. A Grand Master of the Poison Fist (F.A.N.G) and an aspiring competitor and personality in the FGC. Axel also competes with Eliza in Tekken 7 and Wii Fit Trainer in Super Smash Bros.

Brian Azinyui “Docta Afrikan” Mbipeh

Street Fighter V

In 2013, Brian Azinyui Mbipeh aka Docta Afrikan discovered competitive fighting games- a hobby that would change his life forever. At his first major-scale event, Docta Afrikan placed 65th out of 5,000+ entrants at Evolution 2016, one of the largest Street Fighter tournaments in history. Since this breakthrough performance, he’s achieved remarkable consistency with multiple top 16 and top 8 placings at U.S. tournaments and Capcom Pro Tour events. A strategist with a fiercely analytical approach, Docta Afrikan has built up a reputation over the years as an impressively technical player and an elite coach capable of helping others reach their full potential. Now, Docta Afrikan can be seen as a community leader of the South, where he currently runs events and acts as a mentor for players looking to break into the esports scene.

Carlos “FGC_Carlos” Bailey

Street Fighter V

Originally from Florida, Carlos is a well respected member of the FGC community. Known for his ability to read his opponent, his ability to teach other players, and being a helping hand in the Florida and Atlanta FGC communities. He has now joined the ranks of Crescent Esports to pursue his dream of becoming the best street fighter V player.

Curtis “Zipmasterflex” Jones

Commentator/Injustice 2/Killer Instinct

A pillar of the Killer Instinct community, Zipmasterflex has gone from being an online warrior to commentating at some of the biggest fighting game tournaments around. Starting his competitive career at the 2016 Killer Instinct World Cup, Zipmasterflex has worked his way up to sharing the mic with Steven “Sajam” Lyon at 2018’s ComboBreaker, one of the stops on the KI Ultra Tour. With the rise of professional esports broadcasts like E-League, Zipmasterflex aspires to make commentating a career path and to make it onto major cable television. Charismatic and dedicated to the fighting game community, Zipmasterflex is always looking for ways for himself and his peers to succeed together. Currently, Zipmasterflex can be found learning the ropes of Street Fighter V while also honing his talents on the mic.

Dylan “DJ Malady” Jones

Mortal Kombat 11

A writer, content creator, and player who is guaranteed to be holding back on the arcade stick – if not down back, then up back. When not shamelessly trying to time out his friends, DJ enjoys writing about his experiences in the Fighting Game Community and trying to bring the realities of being a competitive player to light. His dream would be to be able to travel in order to document the heart of the FGC around the globe: the local hangouts, venues, food joints, and the people behind them. A member of the Louisiana and Mississippi Fighting Game Community for several years, DJ currently tries to be the best Piccolo player in the South and maintains an 87.5% hit rate on wake up flash kicks.

Glyn-Mikl “Doza” Mendoza

The Shadow Ranger Killer

A player of many Goku’s and a man of many memes, Doza is one of the up-and-coming stars of the DragonBall: Fighter Z scene. Currently ranked #22 in the entire world by the PG Rankings, Doza has proven himself to be right there with top tier talent, taking sets off the likes of Moke, Reynald, and PG| Nakkiel. A member of the Louisiana FGC since a teenager, he has grown from being a local upstart to taking out Evo champions in bracket. Dedicated and competitive in just about anything from Mario Party to BlazBlue, Doza will not stop until he has won a major and solidified himself into Fighting Game history.

Robert “RobTV” Burney Jr.

Street Fighter 5

Rob has been a competitor his whole life: sports, rapping, dance battles, etc. He didn’t find his calling in the FGC until 2017 when he entered his first major: Final Round. Confident from winning his locals, he realized there was still a lot to learn within the FGC. Rob’s Hollywood personality along with his passion and skill are what drive him forward. Toi “Toi” Bridges

Known as a Bison specialist, Toi is homegrown talent that has gained worldwide recognition within the FGC. He has coached some of the best players during his time in the Street Fighter League. He’s played a key role in the Louisiana FGC by helping players expand their horizons.
